Hello. I`m a German Music Producer, Composer and Multi-Instrumentalist.
I`m releasing music in diverse genres through Sineland via Sony ATV.
My clients are from all areas like Recording Artists, Brand Agencies, Film Directors, Event Productions, Labels, Music Supervisors.
Jan grew up in a small town in the North of Germany in a house full of Music. His father`s the musician and internationally renowned classical guitar teacher Wolfgang Weigel. Jan learned to play the guitar and Piano from an early age, followed by Drums and Bass. In his youth Jan played in several bands and orchestras.
He composed his first works for his school theater group which he also joined as an actor.
Later on Jan received a scholarship for Jazz-Drums from Berklee College of Music in Boston (US) where he got in touch with a professional Recording Studio for the first time. He instantly fell in love with it, and from then on focused on composition, recording and production. Back in Germany Jan moved to Berlin to assist the Indie-Rock Producer Moses Schneider. After one year Jan went on to build an Audio Department for a Motion Design Company 908video, which he then managed for several years. Here he produced Music, Sound Design and Voice-Over Recordings for hundreds of Commercials.
In the meantime Jan got signed to BMG Publishing as a Songwriter who invited him to pitch for new Walt Disney serial called “Binny and the Ghost”. Having won the pitch, he composed and produced the score and the songs for the 4 seasons long children serial, which since then aired in 12 countries around the globe.
Jan considers this time as the best school for him to become a professional. in terms of working with deadlines, handling the sensitivities of producers and directors, while filling at least 90 percent of each episode with musical pieces ranging from orchestral music including the so called “Mickey Mousing” to Pop Songs.
Jan then composed the score for the EMMY Award-Winning Thriller “DINA FOXX” as well as the Song
“Perfect Life” for the critically acclaimed Movie “Kreuzweg” by D. Brüggemann.
Jan wrote more songs for several Artists from Germany, Norway, South Africa, Australia and Poland.
The Song “Afterglow” for the Norwegian Singer-Songwriter Laila Samuels got to the Finals in Norway for the European Song Contest.
As a Multi-Instrumentalist Jan played on records by Namika, Lena, SetMo, Schiller, Robosonic, Recondite amm
His music got released on Labels like Kontor Records, Universal, Plangent, Get Physical, Mother Records, Armada Deep and Sineland Records.
Since 2018 Jan publishes his music under Sony ATV. His Song “Morgenstund”, written together with the Performer SCHILLER and David Oesterling, became a No1 Hit in Germany and got to top of the Charts in several european countries.
Besides making Music Jan is one half of the Coffee -, and Tea-Brand PRANA - AYURVEDA.
Jan runs a Recording Studio in the legendary, historical Studio Complex at Funkhaus, Nalepastrasse Berlin
